The controller was the that regular color from the store and i just wore some rubber gloves while drawing on the controller to prevent smearing. Even a few days after i was done before painting, i could touch the sharpie and it would smear on my finger so try not to touch it after its completed. Afterwards, i just took some blue pearl paint and used a air brush to clear coat it 2-3 times. Came out PERFECT. The picture seen is before the clearcoat

you'd asked me if the texture rubbing works with sharpies. It does indeed. Lay your texture beneath the paper and using a dried sharpie, brush over the paper however lightly it takes to get the initial texture..make sure you have a base color first. Then, rub lightly while the marker is fresh and...ta-dah! Love that you like my stuff. Love your work of the lonely/lost circle in the midst of the "crowd"!
