Hi, Ginger1276. The drying time would depend on the surface to which the ink is applied. This applies to all of our products. Surfaces vary on how porous they are, and we do not know how much ink lay-down there will be (based on how "heavy-handed" the consumer is). The same applies for write length. Every time a consumer writes the results are dependent on how quickly, how firm and at what angle they write, as well as the surface on which they are writing. If your Sharpie Liquid Highlighters dried out too fast, please contact us directly by clicking the headset icon on the upper right part of our website and dial the phone number associated in your country. We are looking forward to hear from you!

I really love how these highlighters feel and how the ink does't puddle on the pages but they run out so fast. I just bought a new 10 pack, I store them upright with caps on, but the ink is empty.

I like chisel tip and ink tank of this highlighter, however, the new version has a very short lifespan compared to the old black/clear barrel version. I always keep the cap tightly closed when not in use, however, the ink tank empties in unreasonable time
