Hi, Fergie. We do not have a fixative that we can recommend for you to use as we do not test all fixatives for our markers. We recommend speaking to your local crafts store employees or looking into the different art blogs consumers post as they have their own personal experiences to share. Have a good day!

How do you clean the tips? I have one that paint will deposit on a paper when tip is pressed down but the paint won't freely flow if I try to draw a line. Its like the tip maybe dried out, but the paint does come out if I depress the tip and leave a blob?

I tried using these on coffee cups, used rubbing alcohol to clean them before labelling, let them dry for 48 hours, then baked for 2 hours at 200. First time I washed them the ink came right off. What do I need to do to make the ink permanent.

<div class="bvseo-answer" data-answerid="6724906">
Hello, Northerngirl. Sharpie Water-Based Paint Marker is recommended on scrapbooks, posters, and window art. The ink is fade resistant, but can be removed from glass with soap and water. If you use it on ceramic, please follow these instructions: Once your decorating is complete, allow time for paint to completely dry. Place the ceramic or glass creation on an oven-safe pan and place in a cold oven. Set at 225 degrees and bake for 30 minutes. Turn the oven off but let your creation cool in the oven for an hour before removing. Set the creation aside for 24 hours prior to using. Hand Wash as needed. Do not use in the Microwave. For plastic surfaces, you can use Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Marker. Have a lovely day.

I have the same thing happening with mine as you do Joan. I just get blobs. I followed the directions with marker in tip up position depressed point with my finger, recap and shake well. I depress marker point on surface, but it looks like the paint avoids the tip which makes me wonder if something from my fingertip could be the reason the paint won't adhere to the tip and pools in only a blob when depressing point on surface and not saturating the tip. Does anyone know how to clean the tips?
