Hello, could we use Sharpie Industrial Permanent Markers, Fine Point to write on plastic vials that will be frozen at -80C for weeks? I really want to buy these markers, but I am scared that the cold temperatures will erase my very important data.

Hi! Thank you for your question. The Sharpie Industrial Permanent Markers, Fine Point can be used to write on plastic vials that will be frozen at -80°C. If the vials are critical samples, it is a good idea to conduct a small test before labeling a large number of vials. Write on a few vials and freeze them at -80°C for a few weeks to confirm that the ink remains legible and intact. Additional Precautions: check the surface of the vials is clean and dry before writing, as any grease or moisture can affect the adhesion of the ink. Allow the ink to dry completely before freezing to avoid smudging. In case of any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly via the Contact Us form on our website. Thank you! Sharpie Consumer Care
