Our hospital uses regular fine point sharpie markers on thermal labels because gel pens smear to unreadability. Do these pens smear on thermal labels or are they smudgeproof?

Since thermal labels are glossy paper, a higher possibility that the ink of S-gel will smudge as we used water-based ink composition. This product are highly recommended to be used on standard paper.

These pens are smoother and don't smear as much as the Pilot G2. However, the grip absolutely stinks - it's uncomfortable and makes my hand ache after using it awhile. Sharpie almost had my favorite pen beat!! Any chance Sharpie can redesign the grip?

As of the moment, ink color identifier for Sharpie S-gel pen series can be found to it's grip. However, we would be happy to consider your question turns into suggestion that will be forwarded to our Management and Quality team. Since as of the moment Green ink is only available in Medium Point (0.7mm) from S-gel series. We are more than happy to consider this as a suggestion, and we will make sure that our Management and Quality teams would hear about this. Hopefully, they might consider to offer Green ink in Ultra-Fine point (.38mm) from S-gel series and Rollerball Pens.
